I'm Jerry Kovacs, a proud and active resident of Ottawa. You might recognize me because I've lived and worked in Wards 12, 13 and 14 for over twenty years: in Vanier (rue Montfort) New Edinburgh (Stanley Avenue) and Beechwood area (Landry Street). I volunteer at many events and community services in Ottawa. I'm writing to share with you why I’m running to serve you as your City Councillor and to ask for your help in building a vibrant community together.
Our community has always been important to me. I’ve been able to help underserved and at-risk neighbours who need assistance through REACH Canada and local support groups, advocate for disabled veterans, and volunteer at Bluesfest, Glowfair, the Canadian Tulip Festival, Army Run and St. Paul University legal aid, to name a few. My background in municipal, land use and planning law will be invaluable as your City Councillor. My experience working in the Legal Department of a Municipal Corporation will be put to good use.
